2010 Year In Review
1. What did you do in 2010 that you’d never done before?
I ate tripe.
2. Did you keep your New Year’s Resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I will only resolve to eat more good food than I did this year. I also resolve to increase my metabolism before I get fat.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Nope.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Yes. In addition to the saddening deaths, there was one entity close to me whose death I was anticipating - my OCD.
5. What countries did you visit?h
I didn’t leave the U.S., unfortunately, barely even Minnesota. I’d like to travel to L.A., New York, and Italy in the next year.
6. What would you like to have in 2011 that you lacked in 2010?
Internet presence.
7. What date from 2010 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
1. November 5th - that was the night I saw Brad Mehldau perform Highway Rider with Joshua Redman and the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra. A frickin’ masterpiece.
2. October 1st - we got a kitten that day. She is the most adorable thing ever.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I had my first gig this year in May.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Not asking out the girl I wanted to; not forming a band like I had wanted to.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
A brief but painful four-day bout of food poisoning was the most monumental illness or injury this year, aside from the errant, passing common cold.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
Cheese.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Miley Cyrus.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
The Tea Party.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Clothes, food, and literature.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Music, food, family, friends, travel.
16. What song will always remind you of 2010?
“Round and Round” by Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti, and “Teenage Dream” by Katy Perry.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Just as happy.
ii. thinner or fatter? Summer - thinner. Winter - slightly fatter due to the consumption of copious amounts of eggnog.
iii. richer or poorer? Richer.
18. What do you wish you’d done more of?
Biking.
19. What do you wish you’d done less of?
Procrastinating, working.
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
I spent it with my mom’s side of the family, consuming mass quantities of Lasagna and partaking in intriguing conversation.
21. Did you fall in love in 2010?
Yes. Was it reciprocated? Who knows.
22. How many one-night stands?
Less than I had hoped for.
23. What was your favorite TV program?
I did not watch much TV in 2010. I’m interested in Bored to Death on HBO, but have not had the chance yet.
24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year?
Everyone is hateable in their own special way.

A MacBook, a kitten.

29. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 18, and my mom’s side of the family hosted a surprise party for me at my favorite Chinese restaurant (which happens to be the most authentic in town). I also got in to my first car accident.
30. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
A love life.
31. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2010?
Cold weather: Plaid button-down, slim jeans, peacoat, v-neck sweater or cardigan.
Warm weather: V-neck and shorts (it reaches 95 motherfucking degrees in Minnesota in the summer).
32. What kept you sane?
Music, family, and friends.
33. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Zooey Deschanel and her rumored sex tape.
34. What political issue stirred you the most?
The Arizona Immigration Law. Jan Barber is an effin’ asshole.
35. Who did you miss?
People who have died, live far away, or who I have had a falling out with.
36. Who was the best new person you met?
I meet wonderful people all the time. To narrow it down to one would leave so many others out.

It’s pointless and asinine to be cheap and frugal. Spend your fucking money.
